Senior/Principal Structural Engineer – Water

Overview

As a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer, you will lead the delivery of high-quality structural projects across various sectors, with a focus on the water domain. You’ll partner with UK clients to meet and exceed requirements through technically sound delivery and reports. Based in one of several UK offices with hybrid working, you’ll design concrete, steel and masonry structures, perform inspections, and produce asset-maintenance reports while mentoring colleagues and expanding technical capability. You will help grow Stantec’s structural and civil capability across disciplines and contribute to the firm’s water-sector expansion.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the delivery of high-quality structural design projects
• Carry out design for concrete, steel and masonry structures
• Perform structural inspections and produce maintenance/ modification reports
• Partner with clients across the UK to meet requirements
• Collaborate with other disciplines and construction teams to enable design & build projects
• Coach and mentor others and develop technical capability within the team

Key requirements

• Experience in structural design
• Good knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering
• Awareness of other engineering disciplines for cross-discipline collaboration
• Knowledge of construction practices (temporary and permanent) for design & build projects
• Leadership or mentoring experience and willingness to lead capability development
