Overview

In this role you will lead planning and engineering design for water and wastewater infrastructure, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically sound solutions. You’ll manage projects from concept through delivery, ensuring alignment with client needs, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. You will shape treatment and pumping projects while fostering client relations and cross-team collaboration. Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to Health and Safety within the organization
  • Manage projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teams
  • Perform design work, calculations, equipment sizing/selection, write specifications and technical reports, and conduct feasibility studies for municipal infrastructure projects
  • Coordinate design and report packages for client approvals or authorities
  • Coordinate Process Mechanical and other disciplines to ensure design intent compatibility
  • Attend meetings with clients, team members, and sub-consultants
  • Apply industry, client, and regulatory standards and requirements
  • Prepare engineering documents, client presentations, and communications for project deliverables
  • Develop construction specifications, plans, and schedules
  • Evaluate, select, and engineer process mechanical systems or products
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects
  • Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, prepare site observation reports, and perform contract administration tasks
  • Contribute to basic cost estimating under technical leadership
  • Engage with regional professional associations
  • Provide independent quality reviews for peers and mentor junior staff

Key requirements

  • Proven technical skills in process mechanical project delivery elements
  • Understanding of local and regional codes, design requirements
  • Broad knowledge of municipal engineering, hydraulics, and process mechanical design
  • Awareness of construction means and disturbance impacts on sites
  • Knowledge of project delivery phases, procurement, and regulatory approvals
  • Experience managing client expectations and engineering budgets
  • Strong organization and prioritization to meet deadlines
  • Team-oriented with ability to work without direct supervision
  • Proficient writing and communication
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
