Overview
Join a 12-month placement across design and construction to gain real-world experience on live civil projects. You will work within the Severn Trent Water framework, travelling across the region to support design, surveying, and site activities. You’ll receive mentorship from experienced professionals and have the potential for a future permanent role and academic funding support. This role blends practical fieldwork with design responsibilities to shape community-focused water projects. You will be challenged to learn quickly and contribute to project delivery.

Responsibilities
- Assist planning, design, construction, commissioning, handover and completion of projects
- Support the Project Leader (Designer) with design preparation, drawings and documentation
- Assist Site Engineer with setting out structures and pipework using surveying equipment
- Help with quality assurance and ITRs
- Support safety, health & environment oversight on site
- Assist with day-to-day site operations and requisition of materials and plant
- Collaborate with designers, support teams and supply chains
- Produce as-built surveys and records
- Compile completion documentation per client processes
Key requirements
- Full-time undergraduate Civil Engineering student
- Basic understanding of civil engineering principles
- Excellent communication and teamwork
- Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driving license and car essential
