Forward Deployed Software Engineer – NATO

Overview

In this role you will work directly with customers to understand their most pressing problems and design data-driven solutions that have real-world impact. You’ll own end-to-end delivery in small, autonomous teams, often onsite with clients, and translate complex needs into actionable implementations. You’ll learn new technologies, broaden your technical leadership, and contribute to high-stakes projects across critical industries. This role combines hands-on engineering with customer-facing strategy to shape scalable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects from problem framing to delivery
• Collaborate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to understand and solve problems
• Discuss architecture and design with engineers and deployment staff
• Work onsite with customers when required and adapt to dynamic objectives
• Learn continuously and share knowledge to drive growth and innovation
• Manage time and priorities effectively in a fast-changing environment

Key requirements

• Travel throughout Europe 70-90%
• NATO Security clearance or ability to obtain one
• Fluency in English

• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Independent decision-making and self-learning under minimal supervision
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving under data constraints
• Programming: Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience with large-scale data, data structures, storage systems
• On-premises and cloud infrastructure
