Commercial Manager

Overview

In this Commercial Manager role you will blend finance operations, people leadership, and compliance support to strengthen day-to-day controls and operational excellence. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team on project delivery and continuous improvement in a high-trust environment. The position offers clear progression as you drive reliable financial processes, ISO and health and safety administration, and cross-functional collaboration. You will be pivotal in shaping efficient, compliant business operations that support project success.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations (purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations, monthly reporting)
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and cost control
• Manage payments, invoicing, and credit control to ensure smooth operations
• Lead and coordinate a team of 8–10 across project coordination, design, estimating, compliance, marketing, and administration
• Administer ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, support audits, document control, and continuous improvement
• Support health and safety administration, including training records, incident logs, risk assessments, and contractor competency

Key requirements

• AAT or equivalent experience
• Experience coordinating/leading small teams or clear leadership potential
• Comfort with compliance frameworks; training available for ISO systems
• Excellent organisation and communication; strong prioritisation and accuracy
• Proactive, hands-on, autonomous work style
• Interest in ACCA/CIMA advantageous (not required)
