Senior Investment Data Analyst

As a Senior Investment Data Analyst, you will bridge investments and technology to shape data features and governance for fixed income portfolios. You will lead data-centric projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and translate business needs into robust data models and pipelines. Your expertise will support data quality, platform migrations, and actionable insights that drive investment decisions. Responsibilities

• Lead data-focused analysis projects delivering business impact
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, traders, risk, performance, ops, product owners and tech
• Translate business needs into technical specs, data models, mappings and pipelines
• Represent Australian Fixed Income on cross-functional data change initiatives
• Act as liaison across Investments, ED&I, data owners and delivery teams
• Conduct data analysis, profiling and reconciliation using SQL, Python and ETL/tools
• Be SME for fixed income investment data (security, holdings, transactions, portfolios, risk, performance, analytics, reference and market data)
• Support transition of data capabilities to Aladdin, Aladdin Data Cloud and Snowflake with proper controls
• Document data flows, lineage, ownership, definitions, controls and business rules; champion data governance
• Lead agile planning with the product owner; define user stories and prioritize features
• Lead or support mapping validation, QA, UAT, defect triage and release readiness
• Create and maintain dashboards to monitor KPIs and provide insights
• Develop data pipelines and analytics solutions within agile frameworks
• Continuously learn and apply new data management practices
• Mentor junior analysts and collaborate across regions/time zones

Key requirements

• Five+ years in a data analyst role within asset management, investment management or financial services
• Strong fixed income and investment data knowledge
• Proven track record leading large-scale data transformation or platform migration
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for analysis, validation and automation
• Experience with data warehouses or cloud platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, MS SQL Server)
• Ability to write high-quality requirements, process maps, data mappings, user stories and acceptance criteria
• Experience with data quality, governance, metadata, lineage, controls, QA and UAT
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar tools
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and stakeholder-management skills
• Initiative, ability to design solutions and progress complex work with minimal supervision
• Effective communication and time-management; capable of influencing stakeholders
