Overview

In this role, you will lead House & Garden’s day-to-day social presence, shaping a distinctive, editorially-driven visual identity across platforms. You’ll collaborate with editorial and strategy teams to turn editorial content into engaging, platform-native storytelling and develop social franchises that grow our audience. You will own publishing, performance analysis, and content planning, turning insights into clear recommendations. The position offers a chance to influence how a premium lifestyle brand looks and feels online, while expanding reach and engagement in a dynamic media environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own daily publishing, scheduling and optimisation across key platforms
  • Report on performance by platform and content type, with actionable recommendations
  • Develop content pillars and recurring social formats for consistent engagement
  • Select, edit and adapt photography and video assets for different platforms
  • Shape House & Garden’s visual identity with emphasis on photography and aesthetics
  • Create social-first formats (Reels, TikToks, carousels, Stories)
  • Collaborate with editors to identify high-potential stories for social
  • Manage the social content calendar around editorial priorities and events
  • Monitor trends and opportunities on new platforms relevant to the brand
  • Generate ideas to grow followers, engagement, saves and shares via data-driven tweaks
  • Use analytics to refine social strategy and test new formats

Key requirements

  • Proven experience managing social media for a visual, editorial, lifestyle or premium brand
  • Strong visual eye and understanding of photography and visual storytelling
  • Track record of growing social audiences and engagement
  • Solid knowledge of all social platforms and platform-specific content needs
  • Confident in creating and editing social-first video and visual assets
  • Proficient with Canva, Capcut and other content editing tools
  • Excellent copywriting and editorial judgement
  • Comfort with analytics and data-informed decision making
  • Ability to develop content pillars and recurring formats that audiences engage with
  • Highly organised, proactive self-starter managing multiple projects and deadlines
