Overview

As a key driver for Lightsource bp’s UK O&M growth, you will source and convert third‑party service contracts with solar asset owners, expanding our asset base and profitability. You’ll nurture existing client relationships, identify new opportunities, and stay closely connected to the UK solar O&M market to shape service offerings. You’ll collaborate across teams to refine contracts, forecast pipeline, and support onboarding and commercial terms. This role offers impact in a market-leading platform within a mission-driven renewables company.

Responsibilities

  • Generate a pipeline of opportunities for the UK O&M business and convert them to profitable contracts
  • Create promotional and contractual material to respond to tenders
  • Iterate standard service contracts to reflect market demands and maintain profitability
  • Support onboarding for commercial and legal matters with clients and internal teams
  • Incorporate cost-to-serve into contract financial models to meet margin targets
  • Represent the company professionally at external meetings and industry events
  • Provide accurate forecasting of pipeline with financial detail
  • Build long-term relationships with strategic partners for growth
  • Collaborate with legal to negotiate and firm up O&M contracts
  • Manage commercial pipeline files with proposals and correspondence
  • Coordinate with Asset Services on contract administration for new/completed projects

Key requirements

  • Proven track record in developing a pipeline of business opportunities, preferably selling to large renewable asset owners
  • Experience using CRM systems and MS Office
  • Technical understanding of on‑shore renewable energy development and O&M of solar projects
  • Understanding of basic financial modelling
  • Knowledge of UK solar asset owner landscape
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing abilities
  • Sales methodology and B2B negotiation experience
  • Track record of delivering sales growth and meeting targets, including RfP channels and unsolicited opportunities
  • Degree qualification in a suitable subject aligned to the role
  • 2–4 years’ B2B technical sales experience (preferred)
  • Full driving license
  • Experience in solar market growth and project lifecycle understanding
  • Ability to present financial appraisals and risk analyses for infrastructure investments
