Overview

In this role you will coordinate site delivery for Cadent projects as part of Costain’s Construction Management team. You will lead a team of engineers, supervisors and partner organisations to deliver capital works safely, on time and to budget across the East of England network. You will champion safety and customer service while aligning with Cadent standards and regulatory requirements. This is a chance to shape the delivery of major gas infrastructure projects and contribute to a safer, more reliable network. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive improvement and maintain strong governance and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate personnel, LDPs, customer care officers and supervision to deliver construction works in line with designers’ directions
  • Lead safety and compliance practices, promote a zero-tolerance safety culture and ensure high standards of customer service
  • Plan and monitor works to cost and time, ensuring alignment with regulatory and Cadent technical standards
  • Manage the supply chain performance to achieve key contract objectives and resolve issues promptly
  • Act as a liaison with local authorities and other stakeholders to promote Cadent activities
  • Oversee engineering teams and ensure high-quality service and safety standards with audits and inspections
  • Identify improvement opportunities, drive initiatives, and support toolbox talks, safety briefings and team briefs
  • Investigate customer queries and line up appropriate remedial actions, including incident reporting and closeout
  • Stay prepared for Temporary Works Supervisor duties and manage temporary works operations where applicable
  • Carry out standby and call-out duties and perform other reasonable duties as required

Key requirements

  • Site management experience
  • Strong safety leadership and compliance with safety regulations and codes of practice
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • CP status
  • Experience in operations relevant to SCO procedures (beneficial but not essential)
  • Current UK driving licence
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Competent Person for routine operations (SCO5)
  • Authorising Engineer for permit to work for excavations (SCO2)
  • Temporary Works Appointed Person (Temporary Work Supervisor – BS5975)
