Senior Civil 3D Designer – Aviation Engineering

Overview

In this role you will support the Aviation Infrastructure team to design and deliver airport projects across civil and military environments. You will work with cross-functional design teams to develop runways, taxiways, lighting, drainage and pavements, while advancing digital workflows and BIM compliance. You’ll produce 3D models and data-rich deliverables and manage information across ProjectWise and Autodesk platforms. Responsibilities

• Contribute to airport engineering designs (runways, taxiways, aprons, lighting, drainage, utilities)
• Produce 3D models, 2D drawings and data-rich deliverables with automation (Dynamo, Python, Civil 3D APIs)
• Manage models and documentation in ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud; implement BIM workflows per ISO 19650 and project BEPs
• Take ownership of task delivery aligned with programme and budget
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and Europe and attend client meetings
• Perform model validation, coordination and clash detection using Navisworks Manage; adhere to QA processes
• Contribute to continuous improvement of AECOM’s digital standards, libraries and templates

Key requirements

• Advanced Autodesk Civil 3D capability (corridors, surfaces, pipe networks, grading, data shortcuts)
• Strong knowledge of BIM processes beyond Level 2 and ISO 19650 information management
• Proficiency with ProjectWise, BIM 360 / ACC, and Navisworks Manage
• Experience using Dynamo, Python, or Civil 3D automation tools
• Experience in design, planning and construction support of civil engineering projects; airport environment experience desirable but not essential
• Knowledge of DMRB or highway civil engineering design
• Knowledge of Civil Aviation standards and recommended practices (ICAO, EASA, CAA, FAA, MAA)
