Overview
As Strategic Growth Director you will shape and deliver growth across WSP’s Infrastructure portfolio, spanning Rail, Highways, Water, Aviation and Local Government. You’ll lead sector development, client strategy and major bid activity within the EPES Strategic Growth team, working across a matrix organisation to unlock opportunities. You will guide market insights, partnerships and cross‑selling to strengthen market position and drive infrastructure resilience and decarbonisation. This role offers high impact, cross‑disciplinary leadership in a global firm focussed on shaping the future of infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Lead the infrastructure growth strategy and ensure alignment with EPES and BU priorities
- Provide market intelligence to inform sector strategies, BU growth plans and investments
- Identify market, regulatory and policy trends shaping infrastructure resilience
- Promote market-facing thought leadership and coordinate cross‑functional teams
- Build strategic client relationships and enable cross‑selling across sectors and disciplines
- Coordinate and prioritise strategic, complex opportunities; act as bid lead or sponsor on major bids
- Shape capture strategies and partnership approaches for tenders and opportunities
- Develop talent within sector and sub‑sector growth leads and monitor performance
Key requirements
- Strong understanding of UK infrastructure markets (Rail, Water, Highways, Aviation, Local Government)
- Experience leading strategic growth, major bids and work‑winning activities
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate in a matrix organisation
- Proven credibility to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strategic thinking with ability to turn insight into practical plans
- Experience in direct and virtual line management with focus on development and performance
