Senior Data Engineer Microsoft Azure data

Overview

In this role you will lead the modernization of our core data platforms on Azure, guiding the migration toward a Fabric and OneLake-based architecture. You will own and optimize data pipelines and medallion-layer design to enable reliable, scalable analytics and AI-driven insights for executive decision making. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure data is trusted and available for Power BI dashboards and advanced analytics. This is a high-impact, strategic position within a fast-growing data team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance ingestion pipelines from MS Dynamics CRM, MS Dynamics Finance & Operations, SAP SuccessFactors and third-party systems
• Build and maintain Azure Synapse-based ingestion and staging layers, including Synapse Link integrations and data pipelines for orchestration
• Support the Enterprise Data Warehouse on Azure SQL Server with transformations using stored procedures, views, and DBT
• Enforce a bronze-silver-gold medallion architecture to ensure data reliability and accessibility
• Collaborate with BI/Analytics to ensure Gold layer models support Power BI dashboards and executive reporting
• Work with modern patterns such as serverless storage, Spark-based transformations, and CI/CD automation

Key requirements

• Strong experience as a Senior Data Engineer in enterprise data environments
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure data platforms: Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps
• Practical delivery experience using medallion architectures
• Strong SQL skills and experience with DBT
