Overview
In this role you lead process design for UK water and wastewater projects, from outline to detailed design, with construction and commissioning support. You will work within a cross-functional team under the MMB umbrella to deliver high-impact solutions aligned with net-zero and whole-life cost objectives. You’ll engage with clients and mentor junior engineers, shaping projects that protect water resources and improve communities. A core hook is contributing to a major AMP8 framework that targets large-scale infrastructure gains and spill reduction.

Responsibilities
- Lead development of process design deliverables such as process models, mass balances and control philosophies
- Provide technical assurance of designs and ensure compliance with standards
- Identify opportunities for innovation to meet whole-life cost and net-zero drivers
- Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to deliver practical, safe solutions
- Engage with the client and maintain a one-team approach to achieving project aims
- Support the development of the process engineering team through mentoring and resource planning
- Oversee process design from outline through detailed design, with construction/commissioning support
Key requirements
- Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering
- Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE) or equivalent experience
- Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
- Methodical problem-solving approach
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel across the operational region
