Chief Technologist & Head of Pre-Sales

Overview

In this senior role you shape Computacenter’s Data Center strategy and propositions, leading a team of pre-sales leaders to drive enterprise infrastructure solutions. You will define a multi-year technical roadmap, align cross-functional teams, and engage with strategic vendors to enable customer transformation at scale. You’ll represent the technical voice in vendor forums and at executive levels, while translating capabilities into compelling messaging. This is a chance to influence data center, AI-ready infrastructure, edge computing, and rapid deployment initiatives that underpin modern applications and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the technical strategy and 3–5 year roadmap for Data Center capabilities and propositions
• Lead and coach a team of up to 8 solution leads and pre-sales leaders; recruit and develop talent
• Own and evolve core propositions: Private Cloud, AI for enterprise, Edge Computing, Rapid Data Center deployment
• Lead technical engagement with strategic vendors and partners; represent Computacenter at advisory boards and industry forums
• Support key sales campaigns and high-value customer engagements; act as senior technical escalation point
• Translate technical capability into customer messaging with marketing; develop sales enablement and collateral
• Ensure delivery of technical showcases and demonstrations using TechLab facilities
• Inform proposition development with market insights and customer challenges

Key requirements

• Experience leading technical, solution, or pre-sales teams in a complex B2B environment
• Strong customer-facing capability at architect, C-suite, and executive sponsor levels
• Broad and deep technical knowledge across the Data Center technology ecosystem
• Proven experience setting and executing multi-year technical strategies
• Track record of building and leveraging strong vendor relationships and ecosystems
• Experience supporting the sale of professional services and large-scale transformation programmes
