Overview

In this role, you will lead healthcare construction projects from inception to completion, applying structured project management to deliver on time, on budget and to quality. You’ll manage multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate design and construction, and engage senior client stakeholders to grow RLB’s Healthcare business. You’ll also contribute to winning work through bids and client development, within a collaborative, values-driven culture that prioritises wellbeing and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of healthcare construction projects from inception to completion
  • Apply structured project management processes and use company systems
  • Monitor progress with metrics and report outcomes
  • Ensure on-time, on-budget, quality delivery
  • Oversee tender processes and contract administration (NEC/JCT)
  • Identify/manage risks, opportunities, and performance
  • Lead project/programme team and delegate tasks
  • Coordinate design, procurement, and construction phases
  • Act as main client contact and interface for Account Management
  • Build and maintain client relationships and CRM systems
  • Foster collaboration with contractors, consultants and stakeholders
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Manage resourcing to achieve target margins
  • Promote a high-performance, collaborative team environment
  • Support professional development and chartership (APM/RICS/CIOB)
  • Monitor fee management and support financial targets
  • Lead bid preparation and fee proposals
  • Contribute to business development and sector growth
  • Represent the company at industry events

Key requirements

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Professional accreditation (or working towards) such as RICS, CIOB or APM
  • Demonstrable experience delivering healthcare, life sciences or NHS projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction project delivery and contract administration (NEC & JCT)
  • Consultancy or client-side experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Experience of work winning and developing client accounts
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer service and client interface skills
  • Scheduling experience (Asta Powerproject, MS Project or similar)
  • Experience in business case drafting aligned with HM Treasury Five Case Model
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage teams and deadlines
