Senior Quantity Surveyor – Cut & Carve – London

Overview

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a high-value hotel Cut & Carve project in Central London, you lead the commercial management and cost control for a £50m redevelopment. You will drive procurement, CVR reporting, and contract administration while mentoring the commercial team. This role sits at the crossroads of commercial strategy and project delivery, ensuring value, risk control, and timely final accounts. You’ll work with directors, design teams, and site operations to shape a complex urban refurbishment.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management of a complex cut & carve scheme and ensure alignment with budget, programme, and margins.
• Direct procurement strategy and package management for key trades, tender documentation, and subcontract negotiations.
• Produce monthly CVR reports, forecast cost-to-complete and cash flow, and highlight risks and opportunities.
• Administer contracts under JCT, manage variations, change control, and claims with risk mitigation.
• Provide commercial leadership and mentor junior staff, collaborating with project directors, design teams, and site operations to deliver to final account.

Key requirements

• Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
• 6+ years’ experience on high-value cut and carve projects
• Based within commutable distance of Central London
