Senior Discretionary Trader – Equities

Overview

In this Senior Discretionary Trader role, you identify and implement discretionary opportunities across equities, commodities, rates/FX, and credit. You work with Quantitative Researchers and fellow Traders, leveraging a top-tier research platform to shape strategies. You collaborate with trading and risk teams to ensure clarity of strategies and risk, and you mentor junior traders. This position offers impact through expanding Squarepoint’s discretionary trading portfolio and advancing analytical tools, with performance-driven rewards.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research, evaluate, and implement discretionary trading strategies across asset classes
• Communicate with trading and risk management to ensure understanding of strategies and risk
• Collaborate with Traders, Analysts, and Quantitative Researchers globally
• Contribute to advancement of analytical tools and methodologies
• Leverage internal data and external research tools and relationships
• Train and develop junior discretionary traders

Key requirements

• Bachelor in a quantitative field
• 3+ years of proven trading experience in buy-side or sell-side capacity
• Successfully built and managed trading strategies
• Strong communication skills and global collaboration ability
