Senior Transport Planner

Overview

In this Senior Transport Planner role, you will lead the delivery of transport planning projects for a diverse client base within a multidisciplinary team. You’ll provide technical leadership, manage client relationships, and ensure high-quality reports and appraisals align with national and local standards. Responsibilities

• Lead transport planning project delivery across sectors and client requirements
• Act as Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager when appropriate
• Prepare, review and quality-assure Transport Assessments and Travel Plans
• Provide technical leadership ensuring policy compliance
• Manage relationships with clients, authorities, consultants and stakeholders
• Present findings and project updates at meetings and forums
• Support bid preparation, business development and client growth
• Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing

Key requirements

• A degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Mathematics, Civil Engineering, Planning or related discipline
• Significant experience in transport planning with public and private sector clients
• Experience preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans
• Experience scoping and appraising traffic and pedestrian surveys
• Project management experience across transport planning and infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of transport policy, guidance, standards and design principles
• Excellent technical report writing, analytical and communication skills
• Ability to lead, mentor and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team
