Communications Manager

Overview

As Communications Manager, you will shape and deliver communications for Imperial’s Transformation Portfolio, supporting the Great Environment Transformation across campuses. You’ll partner with project teams and colleagues to craft plans, messages, and content that build understanding and buy‑in for major transformation initiatives. You will advise leaders, manage multiple priorities, and use diverse channels to drive engagement. This role offers the chance to influence how a world‑leading university communicates complex change and campus development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver communications plans for major transformation projects
• Act as trusted communications adviser to programme leaders and project teams
• Create presentations, events, and digital content to build understanding and support
• Lead communications workstreams and stakeholder engagement plans
• Develop user stories and internal communications campaigns to foster understanding
• Review and contribute to the Transformation team’s communications strategy
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to coordinate messaging and delivery

Key requirements

• Experience in corporate or complex organisational communications
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Ability to explain complex subjects accessibly and engagingly
• Strong relationship-building, advisory, and influencing abilities
• Capability to manage competing priorities and work across cross‑functional teams
• Experience supporting transformation or organisational change
• Good organisational judgement and creativity in communications
