In this Education Lawyer role, you will advise schools, school groups and governing bodies on admissions, safeguarding, disciplinary issues, and regulatory matters. You will work closely with senior lawyers within a high-performing regulatory team that supports educational providers across the sector. You’ll handle sensitive, high-profile matters and help shape responses to changes in the legal and political landscape. Responsibilities

• Advise on admissions, exclusions, and appeals for independent schools and school groups
• Handle safeguarding, SEN and equality law issues, and student discipline
• Manage complaints, claims and tribunal matters in education contexts
• Oversee regulatory compliance and inspections for education clients
• Help manage reputation-sensitive incidents and provide strategic support
• Lead and supervise a team, contributing to strategic development and responses to legal/political changes

Key requirements

• Proven experience in education law, ideally with independent schools
• Confident, professional approach to sensitive and high-profile matters
• Strong communication skills and a pragmatic mindset
• Ability to manage both contentious and non-contentious work
