Overview

In this role you will provide expert machinery safety support to clients, focusing on CE/UKCA conformity and PUWER compliance. You’ll conduct inspections, assessments and audits, deliver specialist training, and help grow SGS’s machinery safety services. You work closely with clients and colleagues to ensure safe, compliant machines and production lines. This is an opportunity to shape SGS’s capability in machinery safety across diverse sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections, testing and conformity assessments for CE/UKCA machinery compliance under relevant directives and standards
  • Deliver technical training, seminars and webinars on machinery safety topics to colleagues, partners, and clients
  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation (reports, certificates, training materials) ensuring alignment with procedures and accreditation requirements

Key requirements

  • Experience in an industrial environment with diverse machinery and automated systems
  • Practical experience with inspection, testing, and measurement equipment relevant to machinery safety assessments
  • Knowledge of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Machinery Regulation EU 2023/1230, and The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008
  • Working knowledge of EN ISO 12100, EN 60204-1, EN ISO 13849, EN ISO 4413, EN ISO 4414 and related standards
  • Competence in electrical safety verification and measurements per EN 60204-1
