Overview

In this role you will lead utilities infrastructure projects within a multidisciplinary team to deliver sustainable, complex schemes for public and private clients. You will act as a senior client contact, shape technical solutions, and mentor junior staff while ensuring high-quality, on-budget delivery. The position focuses on utilities coordination, diversions and connections, integrating with wider design work to support major infrastructure programs. This is a client-facing, technically rigorous opportunity at a global engineering firm.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients on utilities matters from feasibility to implementation
  • Deliver schemes on budget and maintain high quality of work and reports
  • Act as senior client contact on key projects and mentor team members
  • Develop utility connections, diversions, and infrastructure strategies
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong client relationships
  • Provide commercially aware problem solving and effective time management
  • Ensure adherence to BIM standards and use AutoCAD/Civils3D for drawing and modelling requirements
  • Support development and progression of staff toward Chartered status

Key requirements

  • Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status
  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Experience delivering utility connections, diversions and infrastructure strategies in the UK
  • Knowledge of Electricity, Gas, Water, and Telecommunications networks
  • Experience with Multi-utility/iDNO/ICP offerings beneficial
  • Ability to develop utility demand calculations for developments
  • Experience on large multi-disciplinary infrastructure schemes
  • Proficiency with BIM standards and AutoCAD/Civils3D
  • Strong communication and networking skills
  • Eligibility for UK Security Check (SC)
