In this UX Designer role, you will shape the end-to-end user experience for FTSE Russell’s evolving Phoenix platform, unifying BAU tools with future-state capabilities. You’ll craft system-wide, scalable designs for internal users across multi-system workflows, guiding teams through ambiguity toward clear outcomes. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and operations to reduce complexity and boost operational efficiency, using modern tooling and AI to accelerate delivery. Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end workflows spanning BAU systems and Phoenix capabilities
- Maintain a clear UX vision as tools evolve and converge
- Balance present needs with long-term platform objectives
- Identify opportunities to reduce complexity and improve efficiency
- Create system-level, scalable design solutions and reusable patterns
- Contribute to and evolve a design system used across internal tools
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and operations
- Provide evidence-based design recommendations aligning feasibility with user value
- Lead design walkthroughs, critiques, and decision-making sessions
- Communicate insights with prototypes, diagrams, and artefacts
- Leverage AI to accelerate design, ensure accessibility, and improve handoff to development
- Draft AI-generated design documentation to reduce ambiguity
- Advocate for scalable design thinking across the organisation
Key requirements
- Experience designing complex internal or enterprise tools with multi-system workflows
- Familiarity with design systems and bridging current and future platforms
- Proven ability to simplify multi-step workflows while respecting business rules
- Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency in Figma for components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping, and design systems
- Experience applying AI tools to accelerate design, including rapid concept generation and layout exploration
- Understanding of accessibility checks, spacing validation, and design-system compliance
- Knowledge of how design systems align with engineering implementation
