Overview

You join a leading regional practice in Cardiff as a Property Development Solicitor to support private and public sector developers and funders. You will handle land acquisitions, site assembly, and development-related documentation, working within a collaborative team while maintaining autonomy. The role blends development-focused advisory work with due diligence and deal execution across the lifecycle. Responsibilities

  • Lead land acquisitions via options, conditional contracts and package deals
  • Advise on conditional agreements for lease for pre-lets
  • Manage site assembly activities including planning, adoption agreements, wayleaves and substation transfers
  • Assist with construction documentation as required
  • Advise on development funder requirements when acting for borrowers
  • Conduct full development due diligence for funders
  • Handle onward disposals of completed units and investment sales

Key requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 5-8 years’ PQE
  • Strong property development experience
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision
  • Strong drafting skills for acquisition and disposal documentation
  • Experience managing developments across their lifecycle
  • Clear, concise and commercially focused advice delivery
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Property development expertise
