Overview

As IT Senior Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex IT initiatives, ensuring governance, budgets and benefits realise value for Yorkshire Water and its customers. You will work within the Project Management team to align projects with strategic objectives, manage senior stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects with scope, governance, and outcomes
  • Establish and maintain project controls: planning, monitoring, reporting, risk management, change control, quality assurance
  • Manage project finances: budgeting, forecasting, cost control, capital expenditure
  • Provide financial stewardship: monitor investment, resource allocation, value for money
  • Drive cost optimisation and provide financial insight for senior decisions
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders as trusted project contact
  • Facilitate timely decision-making through governance and stakeholder engagement
  • Ensure robust governance with oversight of risks, issues, changes, and performance
  • Identify and mitigate project risks with appropriate strategies
  • Plan and coordinate resource deployment for effective utilisation and quality
  • Maintain high-quality delivery standards and promote continuous improvement
  • Drive benefits realisation by aligning deliverables with business goals and business cases
  • Deliver projects within scope, timescales, budget, and quality while meeting objectives
  • Maintain financial governance with budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure management

Key requirements

  • Proven experience delivering complex projects with governance, budgets, controls, risks, and stakeholder management
  • Strong financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting, planning, and spend control
  • Experience in cost management and optimisation with clear financial reporting and insight
  • Demonstrated capability in organisational budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and investment support
  • Strong risk management experience including risk identification, mitigation, and reporting
  • Excellent stakeholder management with ability to influence decisions and drive delivery
  • Experience managing benefits realisation and ensuring delivery aligns with business cases
  • Proven ability to manage resources, suppliers, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and best practices
