Site engineer

Overview

As a Site Engineer you will lead the engineering delivery for residential groundworks and infrastructure schemes in Coventry. You will work with Site Managers and the wider team to ensure works meet drawings, specifications and safety standards, while maintaining quality and programme delivery. You will set out, survey, and manage documentation to support smooth project execution. This role offers exposure to major residential infrastructure and a clear path for long-term progression within a growing regional contractor.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out for roads, sewers, drainage, foundations and related works
• Ensure works align with drawings, specifications, and site requirements
• Produce site surveys and as-built records
• Monitor quality assurance procedures on site
• Coordinate with Site Managers and subcontractors for project delivery
• Identify and resolve technical issues as they arise
• Maintain site records and engineering documentation
• Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures and company standards
• Assist with planning and sequencing of works to meet programme requirements

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer in residential groundworks or civil engineering
• Strong understanding of roads, drainage, foundations and infrastructure packages
• Experience using GPS and robotic total station equipment
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Good understanding of QA procedures and as-built documentation
• CSCS Card required
• Relevant Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
