Finance Manager

Overview

In this Finance Manager role, you partner with senior leadership to shape financial strategy and drive reporting across a small, multi-country SME. You’ll manage a finance team, oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow, and deliver timely insights to guide decisions. You’ll work across UK entities with responsibilities spanning consolidation, treasury, payroll oversight, and audits. This role offers hands-on impact in a dynamic environment and the chance to influence financial governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
• Build financial models and scenario analyses to support key decisions
• Maintain ledgers and accounting processes for two UK group companies
• Prepare monthly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet management accounts
• Maintain fixed asset register and manage PO procedures
• Oversee bank transactions, reconciliations, and cash management
• Produce timely statutory and internal financial reports; manage payroll and tax/VAT
• Oversee audit processes and ensure compliance
• Support ad-hoc financial tasks as required
• Manage a finance team of 3 personnel
• Collaborate with senior management as a business partner to provide financial insight

Key requirements

• 5–7 years of relevant experience
• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
• Experience in SME finance and multi-country payroll (UK, Australia, Luxembourg)
• Experience with SUN System accounting or ability to learn
• Strong data manipulation and reporting skills
• Fluency in English; ability to interact with leadership
• Experience in mergers/acquisitions accounting and SME environments
• Proven supervisory experience of a small accounting team
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
