Overview
In this role you will drive the end‑to‑end project controls for a major Defence Programme in Reading. You’ll partner with the Integrated client Team to implement controls across design, procurement, and construction, focusing on schedule integrity and transparency. You will coach the Project Controls team and coordinate with engineering, commercial, and wider project groups to align schedules, costs, and risk. This is a hands‑on role shaping controls culture and enabling on‑time, on‑budget delivery in a complex, high‑profile programme.

Responsibilities
- Support the Project Controls Lead and PMs in introducing and embedding project controls processes, procedures, and systems
- Lead, coach, and support Project Controls team members
- Ensure visibility and accuracy of the project critical path
- Coordinate controls activities across engineering, procurement, and project teams
- Act as focal point for schedule control, progress definition, and resource allocation recommendations
- Deliver end‑to‑end project controls management from design through commissioning
- Support schedule management, cost analysis, and earned value management
- Align schedules and reporting with partner organisations
Key requirements
- HND or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction, quantity surveying, or related field
- Strong project controls expertise with specialist experience in cost control, scheduling, risk management or PMO support
- Strong relationship-building skills across multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in complex delivery environments with multiple contractors and diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency with project controls software/systems (P6, SAP, PRISM, RiskHive, AM, Power BI)
- Nuclear sector experience desirable but not essential
- Proven experience in project controls or project management within construction or consultancy
- Flexibility to travel; eligibility to obtain SC clearance
