Overview
In questa role you will build and scale synthetic imagery capabilities to train and validate AI and computer vision models. You’ll bridge research and production, transforming a research platform into robust software used by cross-functional teams. Working in West London with on-site and some remote options, you’ll contribute to cutting-edge AI systems for real-world environments. This is a chance to apply game/simulation know-how to high-impact defence and security applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve Unreal Engine 5 applications for synthetic imagery generation
- Automate object placement, cameras, lighting, weather and image-capture workflows
- Transform a research platform into scalable production software
- Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to optimize synthetic training datasets
- Improve development, rendering and asset production workflows
- Build intuitive tools for configuring and generating synthetic imagery
- Contribute to software architecture, technical design and product direction
- Establish CI/CD and containerised deployment processes
- Support applications deployed in secure customer environments
- Communicate requirements to 3D artists, designers and engineers
- Deliver high-quality software against project milestones
Key requirements
- At least three years of commercial Unreal Engine development experience
- Strong Unreal Engine 5 experience
- Strong C++ and/or C# in Unreal or related real-time apps
- Experience in games, simulation, VFX or virtual production
- Knowledge of Unreal rendering, scene management and automation
- Experience designing scalable production software
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and containerised deployment
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work with developers, researchers and 3D artists
