Junior Financial Controller

Overview

In this role you will support financial reporting and accounting across multiple African entities within a global agribusiness. You will work closely with the Senior Finance Controller to ensure accuracy, improve controls, and enable cross-border collaboration across Africa. The position combines hands-on finance work with process improvements in a multicultural, fast-paced setting. A key hook is the opportunity to contribute to international expansion while travelling to sites in Africa after probation.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Finance Controller with financial reporting and day-to-day finance activities
• Analyse and reconcile accounting documents across multiple entities in Africa
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy and compliance of accounting records
• Review and oversee General Ledger (GL) transactions across multiple countries
• Communicate financial information effectively with non-financial operational teams
• Liaise with accountants across our African subsidiaries
• Assist with the continuous improvement of finance processes and controls

Key requirements

• French language skills are essential (written and spoken)
• Minimum of 3 years’ finance or accounting experience
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software is advantageous
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across international teams
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
• Willing and able to travel internationally after probation
