Senior Back-End Engineer, Trading Platform

Overview

In this role you will build and optimize low-latency trading services in Rust, including OMS, gateways, and risk tools, for Blockchain.com’s Institutional team in London. You will advance high-throughput, secure systems that power crypto trading and data flows, collaborating with cross-functional teams to push performance and reliability. Responsibilities

• Build and enhance low-latency, scalable trading services in Rust (OMS, exchange gateways, risk systems)
• Improve OMS functionality for efficient order execution and routing in a high-frequency environment
• Collaborate with other tech teams to deliver high-quality products and improve performance
• Contribute to building new crypto trading services and architecture
• Prioritize security and apply advanced encryption to user and company data
• Gain exposure to low-latency techniques and algorithms

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in C++ and/or Rust
• Experience with Python and SQL
• Multithreading
• Network programming (including multicast)
• Performance benchmarking and tuning
• Trading systems architecture familiarity (OMS, exchange gateways, market data)
• Basic understanding of algorithms, data structures, databases and distributed systems
• Strong emphasis on embedded testing across development stages
• Pragmatic, clean solution design
