Overview

In this role you will strengthen our reliability and maintenance capability on the Rugby canning lines, driving equipment performance and uptime. You will work within the Engineering team to implement the Britvic Work System, delivering improvements through proactive maintenance and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll tackle root cause issues, optimise line performance, and contribute to a world-class engineering environment focused on operational excellence. This is a hands-on position with opportunities to develop specialist expertise and support site performance goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of a world-class engineering and reliability strategy aligned with the Britvic Work System (BWS)
  • Improve equipment reliability, line performance, and maintenance effectiveness across production lines
  • Lead and support preventative, predictive, and autonomous maintenance activities to reduce downtime
  • Apply root cause analysis to improve MTBF/MTTR and minimise failures
  • Collaborate with Operations, CI, Asset Care, and Maintenance teams to hit site targets
  • Ensure all activities meet Health & Safety and Environmental standards, promoting safety
  • Develop SOPs, engineering standards, and technical training across teams
  • Conduct line walks, participate in SIC meetings, and provide hands-on support to optimise production
  • Identify continuous improvement and cost-saving opportunities across maintenance and engineering
  • Manage contractors and issue Permit to Work per site procedures
  • Own a production area and build specialist knowledge through ongoing training (UK and overseas)

Key requirements

  • HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong experience in KPI-driven manufacturing environments
  • Proven collaboration with manufacturing operations to maximise output through maintenance and improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in manufacturing
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; cross-functional collaboration with suppliers and contractors
  • IT literate with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP
  • Engineering experience gained via time-served apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Track record of delivering operational improvements in a manufacturing setting
