Head of Strategic Programme Management Office (SPMO)

Overview

In this role you lead the SPMO to govern and scale Causeway’s AI-native operating model while safeguarding delivery excellence. You’ll shape governance, intake, and reporting to accelerate transformation and rapid experimentation across a fast-growing tech-driven organization. You will partner with CPO/CTO and senior leaders to ensure outcomes align with strategy and AI-first delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on people change, governance capability, and strategic portfolio insight.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the SPMO operating model with outcome-focused, agile governance for AI-native delivery
• Advise executive leadership on portfolio health, risks, and priorities in an AI-first context
• Maintain a consolidated view of in-flight projects, including AI-driven velocity and resource needs
• Lead portfolio reviews and scalable governance forums with traceable decisions and actions
• Improve the SPMO front door processes for rapid experiments and governance based on project uncertainty
• Lead human change management and capability-building programmes for AI-native work
• Engage stakeholders at all levels to align governance with transformation goals
• Develop and monitor success metrics for AI-native projects, addressing AI risks

Key requirements

• Significant experience leading a PMO/SPMO in a tech-driven, high-growth environment
• Proven portfolio governance and reporting experience in fast-moving settings
• Experience building intake/front-door processes with SLAs and accountable governance
• Ability to influence senior leadership and challenge constructively
• Experience with portfolio discovery and reconciling reporting across teams
