Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will shape the mechanical design for water and wastewater projects across the lifecycle, from concept to commissioning. You’ll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient infrastructure that protects communities and the environment. You’ll play a key role in a major AMP8 framework, contributing to high-impact upgrades and spill reduction initiatives. This role offers broad exposure to design, construction, and handover within a leading integrated joint venture. Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical designs for water and wastewater projects, including P&IDs, valve schedules, and pump calculations across outline to handover stages
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and quality against framework specs
  • Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to create practical, safe design solutions
  • Engage with clients to manage relationships and promote a one-team approach toward achieving project aims
  • Support commissioning and handover activities, ensuring designs integrate with site realities
  • Define safe access, lifting arrangements, and above-ground pipework layouts as part of the design package
  • Travel to sites across the operational region as required

Key requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Working towards IEng / CEng with a relevant Engineering Institution
  • Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
  • Methodical problem-solving approach
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel
