Overview

In this role you will join a Cheltenham Private Client team to handle high-value, complex matters within a supportive, collegiate firm. You will work with experienced lawyers and a broad client base on succession planning, trusts, and tax planning, often with international elements. The role focuses on autonomy, client relationships, and cross-team collaboration to deliver sophisticated private wealth solutions. Responsibilities

  • Manage a substantial and varied caseload with appropriate autonomy
  • Handle estate administration, trusts and inheritance tax tasks
  • Draft high-quality documents and provide practical client advice
  • Develop and maintain client relationships with long-term engagement
  • Collaborate with specialist Private Property, Trust and Tax teams
  • Work with the wider UK Private Client group and senior lawyers
  • Support junior lawyers and contribute to a high-standard team environment
  • Contribute to complex, high-value private wealth matters with an international element

Key requirements

  • 3-7 years’ PQE
  • Qualified solicitor or CILEX
  • Strong background in private client work
  • Experience in estate administration, trusts and inheritance tax
  • Ability to manage a substantial caseload and work autonomously
  • Strong drafting and technical skills
  • Commercial and practical client advisory approach
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to support junior lawyers
  • STEP qualification advantageous but not essential
