Overview

In this outward-facing role, you will identify and shape a pipeline of customer-driven innovation opportunities, translating signals into strategic inputs that guide DNV’s digital and data strategy. You will collaborate with customers, labs, and business lines to ensure experiments have real use cases and clear pathways to scale. You contribute to growth by deciding where to build, partner, or acquire, in a context of energy transition and ecosystem expansion. You will operate in a dynamic, ambiguous environment and influence senior partners to deliver tangible business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, originate and advance customer opportunities and shape innovation
  • Build a pipeline of customer opportunities for experiments and validation
  • Act as an innovation ambassador, cultivating trusted customer relationships
  • Scan markets and identify high-value opportunity spaces aligned with strategic priorities
  • Translate market and customer signals into actionable strategic inputs
  • Drive a customer-anchored innovation pipeline with real-use-case grounding and commercial intent
  • Enable build–buy–partner decisions with an evidence-based approach
  • Scout and evaluate ecosystem opportunities, partners, technologies, and potential acquisitions

Key requirements

  • Experience in business development, innovation, or strategy
  • Proven ability to engage customers and external stakeholders
  • Exposure to innovation processes, experimentation, or product development
  • Familiarity with partnership ecosystems or M&A screening
  • Established professional network within renewables, energy transition, or adjacent ecosystems is advantageous
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starting mindset
  • Strong market sensing and strategic thinking
  • Ability to influence stakeholders in a matrix organization
