Overview

In this role you will support the design, manufacture and delivery of aerospace products by developing and sustaining quality systems and processes. You will work to ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 and customer requirements across the product lifecycle, driving improvement initiatives and managing quality metrics. You will engage with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, implement containment, and lead corrective actions. This is a chance to contribute to high-stakes aerospace programs with a focus on reliability and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Govern quality metrics to demonstrate compliance with AS9100/AS13100/ISO9001 and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct Layered Process Audits and product/process audits per industry standards (ISO9001, AS9100/9110/9120, CAA, EASA)
  • Review First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102)
  • Identify and mitigate quality risks across the value stream; ensure product safety and reliability
  • Ensure accurate documentation of quality records and compliance evidence
  • Provide quality support to value streams and oversee containment with root cause and corrective actions (8D)
  • Maintain and analyze key quality metrics (e.g., FPI, defect rates, audit findings)
  • Lead internal and external quality performance improvement initiatives; roll out Zero-Defect programme
  • Participate in Kaizen events and drive quality performance and compliance to aerospace standards
  • Maintain the Business Management System (BMS) in line with AS9100/AS13100 and regulatory standards
  • Oversee incoming quality and supplier performance through collaboration, risk assessment, and problem-solving
  • Monitor and report quality metrics to drive corrective actions; collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Address customer quality concerns promptly to maintain satisfaction and trust

Key requirements

  • Part 21 subpart G, ISO9001, AS9100, and AS9102 knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations, airworthiness directives, and technical specifications
  • Strong ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
  • Awareness of human factors, just culture, management systems, and applicable regulations
  • Relevant aeronautical or equivalent industry experience
  • Relevant engineering or technical degree, or equivalent qualification acceptable to authority
  • Knowledge of aircraft/components from training or experience
  • Experience with A3 or 8D problem resolution and Root Cause Analysis tools
  • Proficiency in APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, RCA
  • Proven Continuous Improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Experience with SAP or similar MRP system; IT literate
  • Desirable: AS/EN/JISQ 9100 Lead Auditor certification
  • Desirable: knowledge of Part 21/Part 145 and AS9100/AS13100
  • Desirable: Safety Management Systems knowledge
