Associate Director – Cost Consultancy (Private Sector) – Retail, Hospitality & Leisure Sectors

Overview

In this role, you will lead end-to-end cost consultancy delivery for private sector commissions, delivering value-focused cost management. You will shape feasibility studies, cost plans and procurement reports while guiding the procurement process and post-contract cost control. You’ll act as a key interface with clients and consultants, supporting marketing in the region and leading line management activities. Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end service delivery for private sector live commissions
• Conduct feasibility studies, business cases and procurement reports
• Apply value management at project outset
• Lead estimating and cost planning, including presenting final cost plans
• Manage procurement stages: prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract prep
• Oversee post-contract cost variances and change control
• Ensure cost checking and valuation work is performed
• Produce and present monthly post-contract cost reports to the client
• Engage in meetings and active project participation
• Perform value engineering and lifecycle costing
• Negotiate final accounts
• Serve as a key interface with client and other consultants at all project stages
• Support marketing and business development within sector, promoting Mace regionally
• Provide line management and oversee recruitment

Key requirements

• Bachelor degree and membership of a relevant institute
• Proven track record of winning and delivering work for retail, hospitality and leisure clients in a consultancy environment
• Strong knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling
• Experience in negotiating, influencing and communicating to command professional respect
• Digitally savvy with ability to build client relationships and lead high-performing teams
• Genuine interest in cost consultancy and career growth within Mace
