Solution Architect

Overview

As a Solution Architect you will design end-to-end solutions for public sector clients, guiding multi-stakeholder design and aligning with client needs. You work autonomously to resolve complex architectural challenges and drive secure, scalable outcomes, while shaping the practice and pursuing new business opportunities. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value-driven architectures and mentor junior staff. This role blends technical leadership with client-facing influence in a fast-growing consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architectures meeting business, technical and security requirements
• Translate requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-efficient designs
• Lead architecture reviews and design workshops with stakeholders and delivery teams
• Support Agile delivery with MVP architecture and technical direction
• Define integration patterns, APIs, and data flows between systems
• Contribute to DevOps, IaC, and infrastructure-as-code practices for scale
• Ensure security, compliance, and risk management are embedded in solutions
• Produce architectural artefacts and documentation (C4, Archimate, cloud diagrams)
• Create high-level Level Designs and relevant architecture artefacts

Key requirements

• Extensive stakeholder engagement and senior-level communication, including with C-suite
• Client-facing or consultancy experience
• Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable architectures
• Track record of delivering end-to-end data and application architectures in enterprise settings
• Understanding of large-scale distributed systems and integration patterns
• Broad experience with cloud infrastructure and enterprise data management
• Knowledge of security, governance, and compliance considerations
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and programming languages (Java, .NET, Python)
• Familiarity with microservices, containers, and REST APIs
