Overview
In this role you drive data science within Product, shaping models and frameworks that influence product decisions and customer experience. You’ll mentor a team of product analysts and push for scalable, automated data capabilities while exploring novel AI approaches. You will partner with cross-functional teams to turn data into action, accelerate experimentation, and align analytics with product strategy. This is a high-impact opportunity to help Tripadvisor’s product evolve through quantitative intelligence and experimentation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of Data Science within Product, delivering models that impact product insights and customer experience
- Scale the Product Analytics team’s impact via automation, self-service capabilities, and faster experimentation
- Architect and implement advanced statistical models (predictive, classification, clustering) to enhance personalization and recommendations
- Explore new tooling including Agentic AI and AI Agents, moving from POC to adoption
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to identify high-impact data science opportunities
- Champion experimentation with AB tests, causal inference models, and uplift modeling
- Mentor product analysts on best practices in experimentation, modeling, and data-driven product development
- Communicate complex data insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Key requirements
- Significant experience in data science or similar quantitative role with a track record supporting a product organization
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL; hands-on modeling, experimentation, multi-arm bandit, and ML techniques (regression, classification, clustering)
- Ability to define, implement, and operationalize product and feature-level metrics from scratch
- Proactive, collaborative approach with ability to lead technical discussions and influence product strategy
- Experience scaling impact through automated processes, self-service tools, or data products
- Strong critical thinking to analyze evidence and form rational judgments
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
