Overview

In this role you will support Talbot Underwriting’s Exposure Management function by strengthening regulatory reporting, data quality and reporting automation. You will work with underwriting and reinsurance teams to monitor risk appetites, develop catastrophe risk views and feed data into internal models. This is a hands-on position with cross-functional collaboration, offering impact on reporting processes, data capture and risk insights in a global insurer context.

Responsibilities

  • Review regulatory reporting and identify automation opportunities to speed and standardize outputs
  • Develop and enhance the suite of reports for underwriting to support aggregate risk monitoring
  • Improve data capture across classes through standardised data entry and validation
  • Maintain focus on data quality and enhance data capture for classes lacking mechanisms
  • Support timely delivery of regulatory returns and compile data for internal and external reporting
  • Provide aggregate monitoring data to assist reinsurance planning and coordinate with underwriting and reinsurance teams
  • Contribute to the development of Talbot’s catastrophe risk views and feed into group work streams (AIG)
  • Assist in representing non-nat-cat classes in the Internal Model
  • Develop and maintain oversight frameworks and procedural documentation for Exposure Management
  • Stay updated on industry developments to enhance data capture

Key requirements

  • Experience in a similar role within the insurance industry
  • Strong coding skills in R and / or Python
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience of enhancing and automating processes
  • Strong understanding of insurance concepts
  • Understanding of cat modelling and exposure management advantageous
