Overview
In this role you will lead civil engineering design for complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure programs across the UK and internationally. You will shape technical solutions, manage design delivery, and support bids within a collaborative team. You’ll mentor junior engineers and help grow local capability while working with cross‑functional teams. This position offers leadership on high‑profile projects in energy, defence, and land development, with hybrid working options.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage civil design delivery on complex multidisciplinary projects
- Produce and review technical reports, specifications, drawings and calculations
- Provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle and support bids/proposals
- Mentor and guide junior colleagues; develop local civil engineering capability
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated design solutions
- Lead on high‑profile programmes across multiple sectors
Key requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering; Chartered or Incorporated
- Strong consultancy experience in a multidisciplinary design environment
- Practical knowledge of external works, current design standards, CDM and best practice
- Experience with or knowledge of drainage, utilities, pavements, earthworks and construction logistics
- Knowledge of Causeway Flow, InfoDrainage and Civil 3D advantageous
- Sector experience in energy or defence beneficial but not essential
