Financial Controller

Overview

As Financial Controller, lead the finance function to strengthen governance, deliver accurate reporting, and enable healthy growth. You will partner with senior stakeholders to drive performance, efficiencies, and strategic insight across a dynamic operation. This role blends hands-on control with leadership, process improvement and business partnering to support ambitious plans. You’ll shape financial policy, planning, and external reporting while maintaining integrity and compliance. This is a high-impact position with direct exposure to senior leadership and a clear opportunity to influence strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes
• Maintain and enhance financial controls, governance, policies and procedures
• Manage year-end accounts, external audits and statutory reporting
• Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory and financial obligations
• Deliver meaningful financial analysis and commercial insights to senior leadership
• Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning activities
• Manage external relationships with auditors, banking partners and advisers
• Drive process improvements, system enhancements and operational efficiencies
• Support cash flow management and working capital optimisation
• Contribute to wider business strategy and growth initiatives

Key requirements

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
• Significant experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
• Strong financial reporting, controls and compliance expertise
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Strong ERP and financial systems knowledge
• Continuous improvement mindset and ability to challenge constructively
• High levels of integrity, discretion and professionalism
