Overview

As a Senior RTL Engineer with strong FPGA expertise, you will help build high-speed, low-latency systems deployed worldwide. You’ll work within a close-knit Cambridge engineering team on production FPGA projects, collaborating with firmware, software, and DevOps engineers. Expect demanding algorithmic work on top-end FPGAs from leading vendors, with a focus on architectural decisions and performance. Responsibilities

  • Deliver production-grade RTL designs for low-latency FPGA projects
  • Collaborate with firmware/software/DevOps engineers to integrate hardware with software stacks
  • Choose and optimise toolchains (Quartus/Vivado or comparable) for complex FPGA architectures
  • Analyse architectural trade-offs to meet performance, latency, and resource constraints
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical leadership on FPGA design decisions
  • Contribute to performance benchmarking and validation of high-speed interconnects

Key requirements

  • Extensive commercial RTL experience on production FPGA projects
  • Low-latency processing focus in FPGA environments
  • Proficiency with Intel Quartus, AMD Vivado or comparable design tools
  • Collaborative experience with software/firmware engineers; ideally with DevOps exposure
  • UK work permission and willingness to relocate to Cambridge, UK (if needed)
