Overview
As a Senior Stress Engineer, you will lead structural analysis for airframe components of our novel eVTOL program. You’ll apply first-principles, hand methods, and FEA to optimise designs that meet stringent certification and performance targets. You’ll define analysis strategies, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with Design, Loads, Certification, Test and Manufacturing to deliver substantiation and evidence for flight approval. This role supports rapid growth and the mission to enable sustainable air mobility.

Responsibilities
- Perform stress analysis of airframe structures using hand methods and FEA to meet performance requirements
- Lead structural assessments of composite and metallic components
- Define and execute analysis strategies aligned with certification needs
- Manage and coordinate analysis activities across multiple projects
- Mentor and develop junior engineers
- Produce and approve substantiation reports and support certification activities
- Collect verification and certification evidence for compliance
- Act as approval signatory for technical reports and drawings
- Collaborate closely with Design, Loads, Certification, Test and Manufacturing teams to deliver integrated solutions
Key requirements
- Significant experience in stress analysis for metallic and composite aerospace structures
- Strong proficiency in hand calculations and finite element modelling
- Experience developing and executing structural substantiation strategies
- Ability to identify load paths, predict structural behaviour and assess failure modes
- Experience selecting materials and developing concepts from early design stages
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence multidisciplinary teams
