Principal Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead civil infrastructure design for UK projects, coordinating research, site surveys, and bid documentation. You will guide and mentor project staff, manage cross-functional interfaces, and help secure new business opportunities. You will apply health, safety, and quality policies while delivering on time and within budget. This is a foundation-owned, multidisciplinary design consultancy, offering development support and a path to ICE chartership. You will shape sustainable infrastructure outcomes through collaborative delivery.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project research including site surveys and inspections
• Prepare bid and contract documentation
• Assess staff competency on projects
• Organise and manage multiple activities simultaneously
• Build relationships with external organizations for market intelligence and opportunities
• Prepare single-discipline bid documentation with other disciplines
• Forecast fees, prepare fee proposals, and allocate budgets on projects
• Apply health and safety, quality policies and training
• Provide guidance, instruction, and supervision to project staff

Key requirements

• BEng/MEng (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer, MICE
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Experience with resourcing, progress measurement, earned value analysis, completion forecasting and status reporting
