Construction Manager – Water

Overview

In this role you will lead delivery of reservoir maintenance projects within the Thames Water framework, coordinating with clients and project managers to meet time and cost targets. You will oversee health, safety, environmental, and quality standards on site, from setup to handover, while managing budgets and reporting progress. You’ll work closely with client representatives, drive programme development, and support supply chain performance. This position offers impact across critical water infrastructure projects and opportunities to shape site safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Produce and deliver contract programme for right-first-time delivery
• Manage health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance on site
• Oversee projects from inception to completion and manage budget
• Develop client relationships and maintain stakeholder satisfaction
• Scope works, submit quotes, and manage supply chain performance
• Develop detailed programmes and monitor progress with corrective actions
• Create and maintain RAMS and Construction Phase Plans
• Ensure environmental and waste management regulatory compliance
• Coordinate site establishment and resource management
• Manage scope changes and reporting, including monthly progress reports
• Encourage innovation and value engineering on works
• Handle health & safety file processing and project handover

Key requirements

• Minimum of five years’ project delivery experience in water or similar industry
• Knowledge of Regulation 31/DWI Approved products & materials
• Experience in minor civils works and reservoir maintenance (concrete repairs, waterproofing, pipework, water fittings)
• Full driving licence
• Proficiency in Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Microsoft Project
• Demonstrated ability to plan safely and efficiently and achieve high utilisation of programme resources
• Strong attention to detail and right-first-time delivery
