Overview
In this role you will provide high-quality adult intensive care within a multidisciplinary team in a district general hospital. You will help steer a transition toward a closed ICU model, while supporting pediatric critical care when needed. The position offers flexible job planning and room for clinical and academic interests, including teaching, audit and research. This is a role that combines clinical leadership with opportunities to shape service development and quality improvement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality adult ICU care
- Manage critically ill patients in a unit evolving to a closed model
- Contribute to service development, clinical governance and quality improvement
- Support resuscitation and acute management of critically ill children
- Engage in clinical teaching, audit and departmental research
Key requirements
- Primary medical qualification
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Demonstrable commitment to Intensive Care Medicine training
- Clinical competence in managing critically ill adults
- Evidence of clinical teaching and classroom-based education
- Ability to undertake audit cycles and contribute to multidisciplinary research
