Overview

In this role you lead a team of Quantity Surveyors on varied construction projects, acting as the main client contact and design-team liaison. You will manage project delivery, HR needs, and key client accounts while promoting the firm’s QS/PM services. You’ll train others, pursue new opportunities, and ensure high quality, compliant delivery across projects. Responsibilities

  • Lead on a range of construction projects and supervise QS team members
  • Act as principal point of contact with clients and design consultants
  • Line manage the team, handling HR requirements and development
  • Deliver QS/PM services independently across projects
  • Manage allocated Key Client Accounts and nurture new opportunities
  • Provide training and contribute to in-house CPD events
  • Pursue new project opportunities and participate in networking/marketing
  • Act as Employer’s Agent on Design and Build projects and Contract Administrator on Traditional projects
  • Follow the company Quality Environmental Management System in service delivery
  • Oversee multiple projects with strong time management
  • Deliver exceptional client service
  • Commit to minimum 20 hours of CPD annually
  • Adapt to evolving duties within the business

Key requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management or related field
  • Ideally Chartered member of RICS or commitment to achieve Chartered status within 2 years
  • Experience running own projects in a Consultancy setting
  • Proficiency in measurement, preferably CostX
  • Experience running large, complex projects independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong line management and team leadership experience
  • Driving licence and own car; willingness to travel UK sites
