Head of IT Products

Overview

In this role you will lead the strategic direction and governance of a large, enterprise-wide technology product portfolio. You will shape a product-led operating model, ensuring investments deliver measurable business value and scalable, secure services across multiple sites. You’ll partner with senior leaders, IT teams and external partners to align products with business goals and oversee lifecycle, governance and benefits realization. This is a senior, influence-driven position with a clear transformation focus and meaningful impact on technology delivery and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the technology product portfolio strategy and roadmap
• Embed product management best practices and drive product-led thinking across the organisation
• Lead Product Owners and Technical Analysts to achieve measurable business outcomes
• Oversee portfolio prioritisation, investment decisions and benefits realisation
• Establish governance frameworks, adoption measures and product health reviews
• Build and manage executive stakeholder relationships to influence strategic decisions
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, commercial negotiations and vendor performance
• Drive simplification, rationalisation and reduction of technical debt across the estate

Key requirements

• Experience leading enterprise-scale technology product organisations
• Experience implementing Product Operating Models in complex environments
• Ownership of large technology portfolios with investment prioritisation and financial accountability
• Strong executive stakeholder management including board-level engagement
• Experience across ERP, Digital, Data, Operational Technology and enterprise platforms
• Expertise in product portfolio management, governance, benefits realisation and product lifecycle management
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing technology suppliers and complex contracts
• Track record of building high-performing teams and fostering ownership and continuous improvement
